BADAS in '60 Seconds' - Who and What We Are!

Our Vision is to strengthen rural roots on the urban fringe of Alberta's Capital Region. From this perspective, our Mission is to support and enhance the quality of life for residents of the Town of Beaumont, Leduc County, and surrounding communities through the advancement of agricultural, recreational, and cultural opportunities. Check out (and please share!) the '60 Second' Profile document about us under Additional Information.

BADAS - Our Organizational Values and 4 Goals

BADAS Members value: supporting and nurturing volunteerism; being responsive to community needs; fostering cooperative work amongst unique, diverse individuals; and, promoting the values of rural and agricultural communities. If that sounds like you, please share your energy with us!

The four goals of BADAS are: to effectively and efficiently manage our organization; to nurture volunteers through comaraderie, accomplishment and fun; to promote diverse cultural, recreational and agricultural opportunities; and, maintain and improve facilities.

What is an BADAS Active Volunteer Request? It's a way for you to help make life better in Beaumont & District!

Each year, BADAS participates in three major events. They are: Beaumont Clinic and Derby (late May); Beaumont Town and Country Daze Parade (mid-June); and, the Rural Roots Fair (RRF, late August). These events are a lot of fun, make life a lot more interesting in our District and help raise funds and awareness for further development of the BADAS Fairground. Please visit our Coming Soon page for information on the latest BADAS Active Volunteer Request and the simple 3-step process to sign-up. We celebrate and thank our volunteers for their contributions each year at our Annual Annual General Meeting (AGM) in early January with a catered meal and featured speaker. We wouldn't be here without our volunteers!

Something near and dear to the BADAS Board - financial support for opportunities to develop leadership skills!

In 2005, your Board began a program to sponsor young and older individuals as well as youth groups seeking to participate in sanctioned leadership development opportunities. Since that time, your Board has provided nearly $10,000 to groups such as the Beaumont Air Cadets, Looma Lights 4-H Light Horse Club, Clearwater Valley Pony Club, Beaumont Community Youth Centre (now the Centre Chantal Bérubé Community Youth Centre) and Alberta North Region Pony Clubs along with 13 deserving young people. Applicants have participated in events at local, district, regional, provincial, national and international venues. What a future we have with such dedicated, motivated and talented people in our District, eh? Visit our Promotional Opportunities page for our request form and further information.
